With winter just around the corner, Visit Montgomery has listed the best places to lace up your ice skates. According to the press release, the best outdoor locations can be found in Silver Spring, and Rockville.
The Silver Spring Ice Skating Rink is surrounded by restaurants, shops, and parking in Veterans Plaza. All tickets must be purchased online. You can make a reservation up to two weeks in advance at the link here.
According to the Visit Montgomery website, the 7,200 square foot Rockville Town Square rink is the largest outdoor rink between Baltimore and Washington. While you can purchase tickets at the rink, online reservations are highly recommended. Online tickets are cheaper and guarantee up to two hours of skating amid high demand. If you wish to skate inside instead, Cabin John Regional Park and Wheaton both offer year-round indoor skating.
